Singapore Cancer Society Family Engagement Day 2018 | CE
On the 29th of September, the Community Engagement (CE) Committee held a Family Engagement Day with one of our beneficiaries, the Singapore Cancer Society.
Our volunteers gathered at Vivo City where they got to meet their assigned family. From there, everyone then proceeded to Resorts World Sentosa to participate in The GREAT Food Festival. Wow, so atas right!
Everyone was then given a voucher to redeem a yummy meal of their choice. Check it out!
But what’s good food without great company? Beyond just enjoying the food, our volunteers also actively engaged with the families, listening to the aunties and uncles share their valuable personal stories. Nothing beats seeing the huge smiles on their faces as they spent quality time with our volunteers.
After the meal came a bonus activity nobody saw coming: playing at the colourful inflatable playground – free-of-charge and no age restrictions? Score! The playground brought out the inner child in our volunteers as they had tons of fun with the families, ending the day on a bouncy note.
Overall, it was clearly a fulfilling and enjoyable event for the families and the volunteers. Not only did our volunteers get to interact with adorable families, they also got to enjoy good food, and even got to reconnect with the kid inside while playing with the families’ children. Talk about GREAT Food Festival. Of course, at the end of the day, it’s really the memories that the volunteers created with the families that made the event a truly GREAT one.
