BREN-Highlights of Talks AY22/23

Looking back on this semester, BREN (Business Real Estate Network) provided opportunities for our undergraduates at Business School to learn from industry experts and gain valuable insights into the real estate market. Here are some highlights from the talks hosted!

The first talk was the Alumni Panel Discussion: The Real Estate Paths. The event was a networking avenue where students could attain advice on internships and what they can expect beyond their degree into the working world. The talk discussed various areas of the industry, such as valuation, REITs, and capital markets. The panel was graced by Hok Yean Chee, Hans Husodo, CAIA, and Victoria Wang – all RE alumni who shared their industry insights with the students. 

The second talk was a partnership between BREN and 99 Group, where attendees had the opportunity to explore real estate trends and analytics and gain career tips from industry expert Mr Ying Khuan Pow, Head of Research & Data Operations at 99.co. The event provided exclusive access to valuable insights on navigating the residential property market. Attendees got a market overview of condominium and HDB resale markets, using data analytics to uncover market trends in the HDB resale market. Mr Ying also shared about his life since graduating from NUS Real Estate, and advice for students. 

The talks were a huge success, leaving attendees with a greater understanding of the real estate market and industry, with valuable career advice from alumni.
